State of Kentucky Literacy Statistics
  • 340,000 Kentucky adults lack the minimal literacy skills needed to function in the workplace.
  • 656,000 Kentucky adults have low levels of literacy skills that will impede their personal advancement.

In Warren County:

  • 20,365 adults of working age are at literacy levels 1 – 2 (minimal to no reading skills)
  • 6,936 adults have less than 9th grade education
  • 6,479 adults with less than 9 – 12th grade education
