“Away with Words”

• 

  Students are invited to write (250 words or less) about a book that took you to a place you have never been. It could be a city, county, state, or country – real or imaginary. Why did you like or dislike the journey?

• Entries are divided into two categories:  Division I – grades 4 – 5 and Division II – grades 6 – 8.

• Entries may be sent by U. S. Mail, or fax.  Those mailed or faxed must be on a standard 8 ½ x 11 paper, with entrant’s name, address, phone number, grade, name of teacher, and school. More than one entry will be accepted, but must be submitted separately.

• Entries must be received at the Southern Kentucky Book Fest office by 5:00 p.m. February 16, 2007.

• First and second place winners for each category will be announced at the Southern Kentucky Book Fest April 21, 2007, at the Sloan Convention Center.

• Prizes are $50.00 Barnes and Noble gift certificates for first place and $25.00 Barnes and Noble gift certificates for second place.
